Adult Assessments

The DAS in striving to help dyslexics achieve, now offers assessment for individuals above the age of 16 years as part of our continuous and holistic support of dyslexic individuals. Our Adult Assessment Service provides for individuals aged 17 years old to 30 years old*.

* Please take note that the adult assessments are solely for those who are in currently in the junior colleges, tertiary institutions such as institutes of technical education (ITE), polytechnics, universities, working and non-working adults.

The benefits of being assessed:

If you are experiencing difficulties in learning and studying, or in your career, you may wish to consider the Adult Dyslexia Assessment. A comprehensive assessment by the DAS Psychologists has many benefits, such as:

• Gaining insight into the nature the difficulties you might have been experiencing.
• Diagnosing a specific learning difference such as Dyslexia
• Identifying your areas of strength and weaknesses
• Identifying your particular learning style
• Learning useful strategies to improve your performance
• Maximizing your potential and improving the quality of life

An adult assessment at the DAS includes :

• Interview with the individual and significant other
• Cognitive testing
• Literacy Testing
• Discussion of test results
• Written report with recommendations

** Not eligible for bursary.
