Teacher Jane,

we are writing to express our appreciation and gratitude to DAS for the assistance you gave us. My son, Kwok Ting Yu, has joined DAS since 2005, when he was in primary 4. He was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was in primary 1. He has been coached by several private specialists prior to joining DAS. Ting Yu has always had to invest more energy and time in his languages to achieve far less than others around him. Last Sunday, it was truly amazing to watch my dyslexic son took out a story book and read voluntarily. He seems to have discovered the joy of reading by himself for the first time.
I am also happy to share with you that he was awarded the good progress award from the Ministry of Education in January 2007. He has gained some self-esteem and motivation. I would like to thank all the teachers especially Jane Lim who has worked him since 2006. I am amazed as well as pleased at the transformation.
We cannot thank you enough for the work you did with Ting Yu and the positive change it has brought about in him.
We wish you well with the training. You have successfully helped students avoid the frustration and suffering which often result from having learning difficulties.
We would like to salute and congratulate DAS for having great programmes with dedicated and effective teachers.

Dear Mr Roslan,

My daughter Jean Heng Wai En is currently a Primary Three student attending both English and Mathematics classes at the DAS, Queenstown Branch.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to her teacher Ms Khoo Hui Lin for her dedication towards teaching and nurturing my child. Jean has enjoyed attending her classes and has been motivated to learn under her teaching. Ms Hui Lin has always taken the trouble to provide the students with a make-up class should they miss a lesson despite her busy schedule.

Other then English lessons, Jean has been taking Mathematics lessons from Ms Hui Lin since she was in Primary Two. I found the lessons beneficial as Jean is able to understand the concepts that Ms Hui Lin imparted. … Jean and I are privileged to have Ms Hui Lin as her teacher. Dear Teacher Nicole,

…Ms Kathy Lim, Theodore’s Form Teacher from Yangzheng Primary wrote in response to my request for feedback on Theodore’s Oral/Picture conversation (Topic: Supermarkets). Mrs Chan, his EL teacher, feedback that Theodore did pretty well for his Oral/Picture conversation this semester. According to her, he is able to verbalise his thoughts in a more coherent manner and his confidence level has improved greatly.

In addition, Ms Lim also informed me that Theodore is the only pupil from the entire level to obtain the highest distinction in the recent New South Wales Mathematics Competition.

In a few weeks' time, the school will be organising a prize-giving ceremony for these recipients. On top of the responsibilities of being an assistant group leader in his class, she hopes these achievements will help Theodore gain more self-confidence in his abilities and talents.

I wish to say a big THANK YOU to you for your work with Theodore. Based on the feedback above from his teachers, Theodore has improved greatly. This also shows that the lesson plan you designed for Theodore has helped him greatly. He is more confident, able to speak up more and express his thoughts more logically, orderly and in consistent relation.
