The preference-based teaching approach aims to help the teacher reduce challenging behaviours in the classroom and at the same time help students to have an enjoyable lesson by including students' preferred activities.

The preference-based lesson plan consists of students' hobbies and interests so as to keep students on-task and engaged during lesson delivery.  This style of teaching is adopted by Educational Therapists at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore and is in line with our multisensory teaching approach to lessons and lesson planning.

Preference-based teaching approach supports the success of students and enhances the enjoyment they have in lessons as well as reducing problem behaviours in the classroom.

Have fun while learning!
